Our newest single Caroline's Calling is now available to download or stream just about anywhere you normally get your music. Head over to our videos page to check it out. We are really proud of this one. It's the 4th single we have released from our upcoming sophomore album, which we hope to finish and release at some point in 2020. Once again, this song was produced by Nick Lutsko and features backing vocals from Amber Fults and lead guitar from Matt Shigekawa (from Ashley and the X's). We hope you like it!
Thank you for visiting the official website for Magic Birds, a Chattanooga, TN-based band made up of Scott Bruce and Ben Ezell. Delivering their own brand of Americana music, the duo blends together elements of classic country, bluegrass and folk, producing a style of music that exemplifies the sound that has helped shape their lives. Check out the site, see where the next performance will be and take a listen to a few tunes. Hope you like what you hear!
Soggy Daisies & Magic Birds at Wanderlinger
We are excited to be making our debut performance at Wanderliner, and what better way to do that but with our buddy TJ Greever and his newest project Soggy Daisies! You may know TJ as the frontman from other popular Chattanooga bands like Up With the Joneses, Glowing Bordis, The Communicators, TJG & The 423s, among a few others we are probably forgetting. TJ is a main fixture in the local Chattanooga music scene and the guys from Magic Birds have been friends with him for a while. However, we have never shared the stage with him...until now. Soggy Daisies is his latest venture and brings more of an Americana approach than most of his past rock-n-roll outfits. Also, did we mention Wanderlinger mkaes great beer and is doing a fantastic job of giving bands another great place to play in our city. Magic Birds will get the night started at 9am, so come have some fun with us!
Trident Transport 3rd Annual Cornhole Tournament
Trident Transport is holding their 3rd Annual Cornhole Tournament to benefit the Children's Hospital at Erlanger. This event continues to grow each year, and this year, they have made the move to a bigger venue, the historic gardens behind the Chattanooga Choo Choo. A bigger venue calls for a bigger event, so this year participants and their supporters will be in for a treat with more children's activities, more food and drinks and....a full schedule of live music! Magic Birds will share the stage with Ashley and the X's, The Afternooners and Call Me Spinster.
Cumberland Trail Fall Festival
After Ivy Academy's annual early morning Running with Sasquatch 5k comes to an end, the Cumberland Trail Fall Festival will kick off on Ivy's campus at 10am. Magic Birds will entertain with live music around 11am. We are excited about this opportunity as we owe a lot to Ivy Academy. That is where it all started for Magic Birds in 2012 when Ben and Scott's wife Mary were both teachers there. We look forward to hanging out with old friends and making some new ones!
